What is ACell?

ACell is a regenerative medicine product derived from porcine bladder tissue. It is composed of extracellular matrix (ECM) components, which provide a scaffold for tissue regeneration and healing. When combined with PRP, ACell enhances the regenerative potential by providing structural support and promoting cellular migration and proliferation.

The Role of Dutasteride

Dutasteride is a medication commonly used to treat androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness). It works by inhibiting the action of 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a potent androgen that contributes to hair follicle miniaturization and hair loss. By reducing DHT levels, dutasteride helps to preserve hair follicles and promote hair growth.

PRP Preparation

The blood is processed using a double-spin method in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, obtaining the PRP solution.

Dutasteride Addition

If indicated, Dutasteride is added to the PRP-ACell mixture to target DHT and reduce hair follicle miniaturization. Preferred when treating Androgenic Alopecia.

Injection

The final PRP-ACell-Dutasteride mixture is injected into the scalp at the areas of hair loss to promote regrowth and prevent further hair thinning.
